Engineer the failure
modes out of existence.

AlphaProMega Air Foundation is a non-profit aerospace research organization. We are building the Immortal Rotorcraft — a rotary-wing platform designed from first principles to eliminate single points of failure, not merely mitigate them.

01 — Mission

No more “Jesus nuts.”
No more accepted failure.

For decades, helicopter safety has been defined by the catastrophic consequences of single-point failures — main rotor retention, gearbox seizure, tail rotor loss. The industry calls these “unforgiving.” We call them design problems.

The AlphaProMega Air Foundation exists to engineer those failure modes out of existence — or to make them non-catastrophic. Our Immortal Rotorcraft program is a systems-architecture and requirements lattice for a rotary-wing platform built around zero single points of failure, distributed propulsion, self-healing structures, and predictive health monitoring.

This is pre-certification research. No hardware has been built. No numerical engineering units are published. But the requirements baseline is formally frozen, and the architecture is defined[reference:2].

02 — Programs

Four vectors of research.

Vector I

Immortal Rotorcraft

A rotary-wing platform architected around zero single points of failure. Main rotor retention, gearbox, anti-torque, and blade separation are addressed at the requirements level — not patched after the fact.

  • Zero-SPOF rotor retention
  • Distributed / fail-operational drive
  • Multi-engine hybrid propulsion
Vector II

Self-healing airframes

Daedalus-Skin structures designed to arrest crack propagation and restore load paths after damage. The goal is not infinite life — it is graceful degradation without loss of control.

  • Daedalus-Skin self-healing structures
  • Residual strength after damage
  • Corrosion & environmental fortress
Vector III

Predictive health lattice

An integrated AGI health lattice that monitors, predicts, and intervenes before a failure becomes catastrophic. Mercy-gated decision logic is embedded at the architecture level, not bolted on.

  • Predictive AGI health monitoring
  • Human + machine mercy interface
  • Valence-aware degradation logic
Vector IV

Mercy-first simulation

Research-grade simulation environments for testing failure modes that cannot be safely tested in flight. Aligned with the broader AlphaProMega constellation of mercy-gated aerospace concepts.

  • Mercy-gated aerospace simulations
  • Failure-mode scenario testing
  • Pre-certification analysis scope
03 — Principles

How we engineer.

01

Failure modes, not failure statistics

We do not accept “acceptable risk” as a design input. Every single point of failure is treated as a requirement to be eliminated or made non-catastrophic.

02

Pre-certification honesty

We are explicit about what we have and have not done. Requirements frozen. Analysis scope defined. No hardware. No certification data. Aspirational language is not an empirical claim[reference:3].

03

Mercy-gated engineering

Design decisions pass through a valence-aware framework that prioritises human survivability and graceful degradation over performance or cost.

04

Open architecture, proprietary core

The research lattice is visible. The implementation is licensed. We publish enough to be credible and protect enough to sustain the work.
